GÜRAY MUSEUM CAVE HALL
Güray Museum was founded in the district of Avanos on the basis of contemporary museology concepts. It’s the world’s first and only under ground museum of ceramics in respect to its architectural structure and concept. The museum provides the visitors with a wonderful museum experience during daytime and serves as an excellent venue with its mystical atmosphere for concerts during nighttime.
Saklı(Hidden) Valley, which is also known as Balta’s Place, because he landscaped it and converted it into event and private activities space. At the entrance to the valley is the extremely small, basilica form Saint Grigorios Church. Rebuilt by the Greeks after it was destroyed, this cave church houses two graves whose inhabitants are unknown.
The sunset at Red Valley is glorious. The ever deepening light made the reds, pinks, and yellows of the rock formations richer than usual. You can see unique stone formations, colourful rocks, mysterious caves, ancient wineries, pigeon houses and passageways that had been carved into the soft rock a very long time ago. There are also hidden rock churches out here that you can visit. but I recommend you do that during the day, not at sunset. You will feel the magnificent resonance of human voice in this place.
